Crispy Parmesan Crusted Potatoes Recipe

One of our most Favorite side dishes – Roasted Red Parmesan Crusted Potatoes. Crispy on the outside and warm and yummy on the inside.  This is a very versatile red potato dinner side dish and can be served with just about anything!

Delicious Parmesan Crusted Potatoes – A Potato Side Dish to Fall in Love with – Potatoes, Butter and Parmesan Cheese

This super-easy recipe of Parmesan Crusted Potatoes is a very old recipe that goes way, way back in time. It’s still a delicious potato recipe that will have everyone sprinting to the dinner table… it’s just that awesome.

One of our all-time favorite potatoes has to be the red potato. It’s the perfect potato for many quick and tasty recipes and always makes for a delicious side dish no matter how you prepare them.

When shopping for red potatoes, try and pick out potatoes that are similar in size so they cook through and evenly at the same time.

What Ingredients are Needed for Parmesan Potatoes –

  • Medium Sized Red Potatoes – try to buy potatoes that are the same size or as close as possible.
  • Butter – salted
  • Garlic powder
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese – you can buy grated Parmesan cheese or save some money and grate your own.
  • Salt & pepper  – use salt & pepper to taste. This helps control the sodium content.

How to Make the Perfect Roasted Potato Side Dish –

Simple Steps to Make Baked Parmesan Crusted Potatoes:

Step 1.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2. 

Wash potatoes thoroughly and dry well. It’s easiest to wash potatoes in a colander and let them drain. Pat dry with a paper towel or cloth.

Step 3.

Using a sharp knife, cut each potato in half.

Step 4.

Melt butter in a 9 x 13 casserole dish by placing the dish is the oven for a few minutes. Once the butter is melted, remove dish from the oven.

Step 5.

Sprinkle melted butter with Parmesan cheese. Yum, salt and pepper everything!

Step 6.

Place potatoes skin side up (cut side down) in the dish. ( See Below)

Step 7. 

Bake for about 45 minutes. (don’t cover)  You can stick a fork in the potatoes to see if they are cooked through.

Ingredients
  • 9-10 medium red potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons dry grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13" casserole dish with nonstick spray.

  2. Wash potatoes and let them dry. Cut each potato in half.

  3. Place the butter in the casserole dish and put dish in the oven for about 5 minutes to melt the butter.

  4. Remove dish from the oven and sprinkle the melted butter with Parmesan cheese. Shake some salt & pepper and garlic powder overall and stir everything to combine.

  5. Place potatoes in the dish skin side up. Sprinkle tops with a little salt & pepper.

  6. Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes.

Red potatoes, butter and grated Parmesan cheese are all it takes to make these delicious Parmesan Crusted Potatoes.  Don’t forget the salt & pepper!  These potatoes are perfect as is, but you can experiment a little with them. Add a little garlic or a little lemon… YUM. Have fun finding your perfect potato.

This Potato Side Dish Goes with Just about Anything!

The answer is yes.  If possible, look for organic potatoes for this recipe. Organic red potatoes are just healthier for  you not being grown with any chemical sprays.

How Long Do Raw Red Potatoes Last? Where Should You Store Red Potatoes?

No worries, those red potatoes that you bought will last a couple of months if you store them in your pantry.  If you leave them sit out at room temperature, they will last a couple of weeks.

These roasted potatoes will go well with most chicken, beef, pork or fish recipes.  Roasted red potatoes also goes very well with corn on the cob.

  • Store potatoes in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat for breakfast and serve with your favorite eggs.
  • Serve them again another night.
  • Eat reheated potatoes as a snack.
