Air Fryer Small Potato Tips:

  • Soaking the potatoes in water for 20 minutes after they have been cut can help draw out extra starch. Dry them off and they will be noticeably crispier!
  • These can even work as a main dish. Slather on sour cream, bacon bits, and cheese and you have a killer loaded baked potato dish!
  • It’s important that the potatoes are tossed and adjusted halfway through the cooking process. This allows them to cook evenly and not burn half while the other half doesn’t crisp well.
  • This recipe works with 4-quart or larger air fryers. If you’re using a smaller one, cut the recipe in half or cook only half at a time.
  • If your air fryer doesn’t reach 400 degrees, use the closest setting it gives. You may have to add a couple more minutes cooking time.
  • Add any seasonings you like to switch up the flavors or to match the main course you’re serving them with.

Best Seasonings for Roasted Potatoes:

Parmesan Cheese
Dry Ranch Seasoning
Garlic Salt
Onion and Garlic Powder – mixed together

Serve Your Crispy Air Fried French Fries With:

Ketchup
Sour Cream
Ranch Dressing
Cheese Sauce

Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes

Making roasted potatoes in an air fryer is a great way to get that crispy, roasted texture without using an oven. Not only does this save time and energy, but it also produces delicious results. In just a few simple steps, you can have perfectly roasted potatoes that are delightful for any meal.

Do you have to boil potatoes before air frying?

No, you do not have to boil potatoes before making roasted potatoes in an air fryer. In fact, boiling potatoes can actually make them less crispy when air fried. Instead, try cutting the potatoes into small pieces so that they cook evenly in the air fryer.

Why do you soak potatoes in water before air frying?

Soaking potatoes in water before air frying helps to remove the starch from the surface of the potatoes. This starch can cause the potatoes to become soggy when air fried. Soaking also helps the potatoes to get crispier in the air fryer.

What kind of oil should I use for air frying?

You can use any type of oil you like for air frying. Olive oil is a healthy option that really cooks well. Avocado oil is a great choice too, because of how hot it can get. You can always forego the oil, but the seasonings will have a difficult time sticking if you do.

What is the best way to season air fryer roasted potatoes?

There are many different ways to season air fryer roasted potatoes. Some of our favorites include garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme. However, you can use whatever herbs and spices you like to create a unique flavor profile. Feel free to experiment.

How long do I cook air fryer roasted potatoes for?

The cooking time for air fryer roasted potatoes will vary depending on the size and thickness of your potatoes. However, we generally recommend cooking them for about 20 minutes or until they are crispy and golden brown.

Are air fryer roasted potatoes healthy?

Air fryer potato recipes are a healthy alternative to traditional oven roasted potatoes. They are lower in fat and calories, and they also contain many important nutrients, including potassium, vitamin C, and dietary fiber. Air fryers are a great way to cook food without compromising on taste or nutrition.

What to serve with air fryer roasted potatoes?

Air fryer roasted potatoes are a versatile side dish that can be served with almost any meal. They go well with chicken, beef, pork, and fish, and they are also the perfect accompaniment to salads and sandwiches.
