How To Cook Chicken Breasts in a Dutch Oven –

We love our Dutch Oven because you can brown larger pieces of meat and then pop them in the oven to slowly finish cooking. With boneless chicken breasts, you don’t need to brown, just pop in the oven for about 25-40 minutes, depending on thickness of the breasts.

Dutch Oven Chicken Breast

We use the thick chicken breasts for this recipe as they cook nicely in your dutch oven. Rub the chicken breasts with oil then lightly salt. Sprinkle with taco seasoning. Let rest for about 20 minutes before baking.

Chicken Breasts in the dutch oven

Drizzle olive oil on the bottom of the Dutch Oven and a small squeeze of the fresh lemon juice. Nestle chicken pieces on the bottom of the pot – they can touch but try not to overlap. This is where you can add more of the taco seasoning. Lay lemon slices on top of the chicken.

Add Potatoes –

Add some baby potatoes to the pan if you would like. Just coat about 1 lb. of baby potatoes, sliced in half, in a small amount of oil and lightly salt and pepper. Add to the Dutch Oven with the chicken.

Dutch Oven Cooking

Did you know a dutch oven can go from stovetop to oven making it a very versatile cooking pot! Every kitchen needs one and here is one of our favorite dutch ovens. You can braise your meats to perfection and then pop in the oven to finish cooking a tender and juicy piece of meat.

No need for more than one pot so less clean up.

Yum – there are so many dishes you can make with the juicy chicken. Or for a quick lunch, use in your meal prep containers.

Here is another creative way to cook boneless chicken to use in recipes.  Or if you prefer, how to boil chicken breasts.
