Avocado Deviled Eggs – Healthy and Delicious Egg Recipe
For a tasty and healthy twist on traditional deviled eggs, give these Avocado Deviled Eggs a try. These deviled eggs combine ripe avocado, red pepper flakes, and other spices to add tons of extra flavor to an otherwise basic egg recipe.
Deviled eggs are a comfort food that almost everyone loves. Most deviled eggs lovers take their favorite egg recipe very seriously and never vary from that tried-and-true recipe that they originally fell in love with.
But this is a great recipe to get those folks to try something just a little different! Healthy avocado adds a delicious taste element when added to creamy eggs.
Those serious egg lovers will now be fighting over these new found deviled eggs, so try this recipe at your next party or get together.
Prefer more (or less) heat? Simply adjust the amount of crushed red pepper (or leave out all together) until you find the right balance.
Try this different healthy and delicious twist on traditional deviled eggs.
- 8 large eggs, hard boiled and peeled
- 2 medium soft avocados
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- salt and pepper, to taste
Start by slicing each of your hard boiled eggs in half lengthwise.
Carefully remove the yolks with a spoon and transfer to a small mixing bowl. Set the cooked egg whites aside.
Add the avocado, lime juice, mayonnaise, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika to the bowl with the yolks. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste, and mash everything together until thoroughly combined.
Fill each egg half with a tablespoon of the avocado mixture and top with fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!
