This green bean recipe is one that is pulled out often around the holidays for something extra special. Very few guests can resist the temptation of these green beans loaded with crack bacon. Bacon that has been cooked in butter, brown sugar and soy sauce. The sauce thickens and then coats the green beans in deliciousness.
Ingredients Needed for Crack Green Beans
- Whole Green Beans (Frozen) (Yes, you can definitely use canned green beans.)
- Bacon – regular cut bacon
- Brown sugar – Light or dark sugar is fine
- Butter – You’ll need ½ a stick.
- Soy sauce – regular or low sodium
How To Make Crack Green Beans
STEP 1. Cook bacon in a skillet until slightly crispy. Don’t overcook. Cut bacon into small pieces and drain of all of the grease.
STEP 2. Add 1/2 stick of butter, brown sugar and soy sauce to the skillet with the cooked bacon. Stir to combine.
STEP 3. Cook on medium-low heat for about 2 minutes, stirring often. Mixture should start to thicken.
STEP 4. Stir in the cooked and drained green beans. Stir to combine the beans and sauce.
STEP 5. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
