Instant Pot Lemon Rice – Delicious and Easy Rice in Your Pressure Cooker
Preparing rice flavored with a hint of lemon is so easy when you have an Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker. Instant Pot Lemon Rice practically cooks itself and comes out of the pot perfectly delicious.
Making rice in an Instant Pot vs. stove top is much simpler because you don’t have to watch or worry about the rice. Just push the “RICE” button and the pot cooks the rice to perfection every time. It’s a smart pot!
The “RICE” setting for the Instant Pot is for white rice only – there is of course additional time for brown rice or wild rice.
Make a Family Favorite Side Dish - Instant Pot Lemon Rice
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 medium lemon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/4 cup milk or cream
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Wash the lemon and cut in half.
Add everything to the Instant Pot and stir to combine.
Cut one thin slice from the lemon and then squeeze the juice from the remaining lemon into the Instant Pot and stir again. Cut the lemon slice in half and lay on top of the rice mixture.
Seal the lid and turn the knob to the "SEALING" position.
Push the "RICE" button to start the cooking process.
Once the rice has finished cooking, let sit for 8 minutes.
Do a "QUICK RELEASE" and carefully remove pot. Give it a quick stir.
If you choose to make it a creamy lemon version, stir in the milk and Parmesan cheese.
For a delicious creamy rice - you can add milk and Parmesan cheese after the rice has been cooked.

You can add a little lemon pepper seasoning instead of the grated lemon peel. Lemon pepper seasoning is wonderful to use to flavor foods, but try a few varieties before you settle on your favorite brand. Not all brands are good.
