Wild Alaskan Coho Salmon Recipe
This is probably the easiest and tastiest Alaskan Coho Salmon Recipe with the least amount of ingredients you’ll find.
The Coho salmon or “silver salmon” is a milder tasting Pacific salmon that is perfect for this recipe.
This salmon recipe is made in a cast iron skillet using both your stove top and your oven.

Wild Alaskan Coho Salmon is a delicious and healthy family dinner.
- 1 lb. Wild Alaskan Coho Salmon Filet
- 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 large Fresh Lemon 1/2 to squeeze over Filet and the other half to slice and garnish
- Salt and Pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 400

Heat a cast iron skillet on high heat

Pat dry the Salmon Filet with a paper towel and brush Filet (skin side down) with olive oil

Squeeze fresh Lemon over Salmon Filet

Salt and Pepper

Place Salmon Filet (skin side up) into the hot skillet and sear for approximately 5 minutes

With a metal spatula, turn Salmon Filet over to (skin side down) if the Filet is sticking, let sear a while longer then place Cast Iron Skillet in oven for approximately 10 minutes
Serve This Salmon with Lemon Herb Butter
For the Lemon Herb Butter:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped dill, salt, and pepper until well combined.
What to Serve with Coho Salmon:
Serve Coho Salmon with Thai Lime Rice or Yellow Basmati Rice and French String Beans sautéed in extra virgin olive oil with garlic and hot pepper flakes.
