Air Fryer Spiral Ham Recipe

This honey and brown sugar glazed ham in the air fryer is perfect for the upcoming holidays. Your guests will absolutely love the sticky sweet slices of juicy ham.

Cooking the ham in the air fryer reduces the cooking time so you can have your meal on the table in less than an hour. The air fryer also cooks the ham so it is nicely browned on the outside yet moist on the inside. There’s nothing worse than dry overcooked ham, wouldn’t you agree?  Thankfully with the air fryer, you don’t have to worry about dry ham!

This sweet glazed ham will not disappoint. Serve with a side of mashed potatoes and some green peas and you’re all set. Leftovers taste great the next day too!

Why You’ll Love Air Fryer Ham

This air fryer ham will be your new go-to ham recipe. The air fryer cooks it up quickly and evenly so the glaze bakes right in. You’ll get a nice brown exterior and a juicy interior.

Your air fryer is about to be your new best friend. Believe there is nothing this little machine can’t do.

Recipe Ingredients To Make Air Fryer Ham With A Brown Sugar and Honey Glaze

Ham – We used a spiral-cut ham that was between 2 ½ and 3 lbs.

Brown sugar – Any type of brown sugar will work in this recipe. I used light brown. If you find your brown sugar is betting hard you can pick up a special disc designed to keep it moist.

Honey – Any kind of honey will work to sweeten up this ham. If your honey gets crystallized and it won’t pour you can place it in the microwave for a few seconds to liquify it.

Dijon mustard – Make sure to use Dijon mustard and not yellow mustard.

Apple cider vinegar –Apple cider vinegar adds a touch more sweetness.

Cinnamon – Just a pinch of cinnamon is needed for this ham air fryer recipe.

Black pepper – Add freshly ground pepper to taste.

How To Make Air Fryer Ham

Step 1. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees.

Step 2. Place the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon and black pepper in a saucepan and simmer over medium heat until thickened. Be careful not to burn the mixture as it will stick to the pan.

Step 3. Remove the glaze from the saucepan and allow it to cool for a minute or two.

Step 4. Line a baking sheet or rack with tin foil and place the ham in the center.

Step 5. Brush ⅓ of the glaze over the ham, and then wrap the ham tightly in the tin foil. Place into the air fryer for 20 minutes.

Step 6. Uncover the ham, and brush on another ⅓ of the glaze. Cover tightly in tin foil again and return to the air fryer for 20 more minutes.

Step 7. Remove the tin foil, and brush on the remaining glaze.

All About the Air Fryer

This newest kitchen appliance has become the new go-to appliance for quick cooking and baking.

An air fryer is a countertop appliance that is used as a substitute for deep frying. The fan circulates the air so it cooks meat nice and crisp on the outside while maintaining a soft and tender inside. It also speeds up the baking process, so your special treats are ready in no time at all.

Variations of Air Fryer Ham

  • Cook up a bone in ham instead of a boneless ham.
  • Add some spice to the glaze by adding red pepper flakes, sriracha, or liquid smoke.
  • Serve with a garnish of fresh parsley or cilantro.

Tips & Tricks

  • Be careful not to burn the glaze while it cooks or your pot will be a big sticky mess.
  • If you don’t have honey on hand, you can substitute maple syrup.
  • Make sure to wrap the ham tightly in tin foil so the glaze doesn’t drip on the air fryer.
