DAY 2’s Roast Beef with Horseradish Sauce was this week’s big winner. If you love meat and potatoes, this dinner will be right up your alley. The horseradish gives the roast some great flavor and a bit of a bite, but it’s not too hot. The creamy sauce was also delicious served on the side.

This Week ….

DAY 4’s Orange Roughy Florentine. – The mild taste of the fish and the smooth white sauce made this a great fish recipe.  Sometimes getting kids to eat fish is a monumental task, but sometimes if you slip the right fish recipe in, there is hope!

DAY 5’s Ziti Casserole was also a great dinner. Pasta is always a big hit and you will rarely get any complaints. There was even enough leftovers for a weekend lunch!

Don’t be alarmed about buying two roasts this week- the outcomes are completely different . DAY 6’s Pulled Beef Sandwiches were a nice change of pace and an easy meal to put on the table. Make sure you buy the right cut of beef and let it cook long enough- the meat will literally fall apart easily. With the holidays fast approaching, this is an easy entree to prepare to either serve at a dinner party or take to one.

Now it a great time to eat more pumpkin! Canned pumpkin is on sale everywhere you look and it’s super-healthy. Try this pumpkin raisin bread for a healthy snack or dessert!

Make Homemade Desserts!

Most store-bought pastries, cookies and cakes are made with refined sugar, refined flour and added (unhealthy) fats like shortening (high in trans fats) not to mention all the chemicals that keep those snacks looking fresh and delicious for months! (Yuck)

Store-bought desserts are among some of the worst things that you can put into your body. Almost no essential nutrients, but tons of calories and unhealthy ingredients.

When you make your own desserts, you control what ingredients go into them,  therefore controlling what ingredients then goes into your body.
