Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. Russet Potatoes
  • 2-3 teaspoons salt for the water
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon butter
  • 4 tablespoons of butter

Instructions

  1. Rinse potatoes under cold water. Peel potatoes and then rinse again.

  2. Cut potatoes into cubes.

  3. Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with cold water.
  4. Make sure to salt the cold water before cooking.
  5. Start with about 2-3 teaspoons of salt. Taste the water to see if it's salty enough.
  6. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  7. Test potatoes by piercing with a fork or sharp knife.
  8. Drain well. Place pot back on the stove to remove any excess moisture.
  9. Add the butter, cream, remaining salt, and pepper.
  10. Mix until creamy.
