Black Beans come out just perfect when using your Instant Pot to cook a batch.

  • 2 cups dried black beans
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 teaspoons Cajun Seasoning


  1. Pick through the beans and discard any rocks or foreign object. Rinse the beans in cold water and drain well.

  2. Place everything in the bottom of the Instant Pot Inner Pot and stir well to combine.

  3. Secure and lock the lid. Turn the vent at the top to the "SEALING" position.

  4. Hit the "HIGH PRESSURE" button and set the time for 27 minutes.

  5. When the timer goes off let the beans sit and do a natural release for 10 minutes.

  6. Turn the valve to "QUICK RELEASE" to release any additional steam. 

  7. Carefully remove the pot and stir the beans.  Add additional Cajun seasoning or salt if necessary.
