Ricotta Cheese and Tomato Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. linguini
  • 1 15 oz. container fresh ricotta
  • 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion chopped fine
  • 3 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to directions.
  2. In a large skillet, saute garlic and onion in olive oil until soft and transparent.
  3. Stir in the ricotta cheese. Salt & pepper to taste.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese, basil, salt and pepper stir again.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste mix well and let simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  6. Serve over pasta and some additional Parmesan cheese
