Ultimate Easy Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes For Dinner or Holiday Meals
The ultimate in comfort food made right your slow cooker! Less work for holiday meals, simply make the mashed potatoes and then put right back in the slow cooker to keep warm until dinner is ready to be served.
You can even peel the potatoes ahead of time and leave in a bowl of cold water in the refrigerator.
We like using russet potatoes for this ultimate mashed potato recipe. These potatoes are easy to work with and give the mashed potatoes more of a fluffy texture.

Get those delicious mashed potatoes easily using your slow cooker,
- 3 lbs. russet potatoes peeled and cut into 1" cubes
- 1-1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 1 3 oz. package cream cheese
- 1 stick butter
- 1 tablespoon dried chives
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Place potatoes and broth in your slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4. Test with a fork to see if potatoes are tender.

Mash the potatoes with a hand masher or an electric mixer.

If mixing with an electric mixer, use a safe pan or bowl to mix in.

Top with additional butter and a sprinkle of dried chives.
Want Cheesy Garlic Mashed Potatoes, omit the cream cheese and add 2-3 cloves of garlic and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
