  • Onion – yellow onions works best
  • Garlic Cloves – use fresh cloves or jarred garlic
  • Olive Oil –  extra virgin olive oil

How to Cook the Spaghetti:  (quickly make the sauce while the spaghetti is cooking.)

  1. Fill a medium pot about 3/4 of the way with water. Add salt to taste. Start with 2 teaspoons. Add more salt to the water if desired.
  2. Bring the water to a rolling boil. Add pasta and stir for at least a full minute so the pasta does not stick.
  3. Turn the heat down to medium-high and cook according to package directions times. Typically about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Drain the spaghetti well and put the cooked spaghetti back in the same pot. You can add a little oil to prevent it from sticking.
  5. If you won’t be eating the spaghetti right away, you can rinse the spaghetti in cold water before putting back in the pan so it won’t stick.
