Soup Base – Chicken or Beef Base we Can’t Live Without it in Our Kitchen!
Every home cook and kithcen needs a jar of this wonderful soup base to easily add a little flavor to soups and stews!
I have done a lot of cooking since DinnerPlanner started back in 2003, and was recently asked what product or ingredient I reach for most often.
I would have to say hands down the ingredient would be soup base! Chicken base is similar to a bouillon cube, because they were both created to make a chicken broth or “starting base for soup,” but that’s where the similarities end.
A good soup base is smooth and creamy in texture, while still remaining somewhat of a powder. This makes it very easy to work with and flavor your foods by adding only the amount that is needed.
Have you every tried cutting a bouillon cube? It’s very difficult and even more difficult to measure.
Soup base can be also found in most restaurants as a secret additive to enhance the flavors of many of their delicious dishes.
A good chicken base will beat the best flavored bouillon cube making the end result of all foods more flavorful. In fact, toss out those bouillon cubes because you will never use them again. I promise.
What can you do with soup base besides making broth?
- Add a little to your water for cooking all types of noodles.
- Cook and steam vegetables.
- Add to soups and stews.
- Add to chili.
- Perfect addition to most sauces.
- Make delicious gravy.
- Cook your rice with either chicken or beef.
- Add a little flavor to your potato water – yum!
