Heinz Tomato Soup
Growing up in Pittsburgh, PA, there was always plenty of cans of Heinz Tomato Soup in the pantry along with a fresh loaf of “Town Talk” bread and Velveeta cheese to make a quick lunch of cream of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Many a snow-filled, sled riding days had a hot bowl of tomato soup waiting for lunch.
Lunch is on the table in about 10 minutes and would keep kids filled all the way up until dinner time. This is a hearty lunch when adding the grilled cheese, but you can also eat a bowl of Heinz Tomato Soup with a few saltine crackers or croutons.

Heinz Tomato Soup
Ingredients:
1 can Heinz Tomato Soup
Butter
1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder and Onion Powder
Half and Half
How to Make Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the bottom of a medium pan. Stir in spices.
Spoon in the can of tomato soup
Slowly stir in 3/4 cup of half and half
Bring to a light simmer and cook until hot
Grilled Velveeta Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
Sliced White Bread (cheaper the better)
Butter
Velveeta Cheese
How to Make Grilled Velveeta Cheese Sandwich
Slice cheese and place between the two slices of bread
Butter both sides of the bread with soft butter
Heat a skillet to medium and add just a tad bit more butter to the bottom
Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side.
You can also place a large skillet lid on top of the grilled cheese to get the inside of the sandwich hot and bubbly.
Flip the sandwich using a spatula after brown on one side. Brown the other side and serve sandwich sliced on a plate with your favorite pickles.

- 1 can Heinz Tomato Soup
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder and Onion Powder
- 3/4 cup Half and Half
