How To Cook Chicken Breasts in a Dutch Oven –
We love our Dutch Oven because you can brown larger pieces of meat and then pop them in the oven to slowly finish cooking. With boneless chicken breasts, you don’t need to brown, just pop in the oven for about 25-40 minutes, depending on thickness of the breasts.
Easy way To Make Boneless Chicken Breasts - Easy and Delicious
- 2 lb. boneless chicken breasts, thick breasts
- 1 packet taco seasoning, use about 1/2 or 3/4
- 1 large lemon, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, divided
- salt & pepper, to taste
-
Lay chicken on a plate or waxed paper. Rub with 1/2 of the olive oil. Sprinkle with a little salt and about 1/2 of the packet of taco seasoning. Let sit for about 25 minutes.
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-
Drizzle the remaining olive oil on the bottom of your Dutch oven. Squeeze in a little bit of lemon, about 3 teaspoons.
-
Lay chicken pieces in the bottom of your Dutch oven in a single layer.
-
Cover and bake for 35-40 minutes.
-
Remove from oven and shred or cut into pieces. Add a little more taco seasoning and stir.
We use the thick chicken breasts for this recipe as they cook nicely in your dutch oven. Rub the chicken breasts with oil then lightly salt. Sprinkle with taco seasoning. Let rest for about 20 minutes before baking.
Drizzle olive oil on the bottom of the Dutch Oven and a small squeeze of the fresh lemon juice. Nestle chicken pieces on the bottom of the pot – they can touch but try not to overlap. This is where you can add more of the taco seasoning. Lay lemon slices on top of the chicken.
Add Potatoes –
Add some baby potatoes to the pan if you would like. Just coat about 1 lb. of baby potatoes, sliced in half, in a small amount of oil and lightly salt and pepper. Add to the Dutch Oven with the chicken.
