What is the Best Beer to Use for Beer and Cheese Sauce?
Choosing the best beer for beer and cheese sauce really depends on personal taste preferences and the specific flavors you want to enhance in your dish. However, certain beer styles are commonly recommended for pairing with cheese-based sauces:
Pilsner – For a lighter option, a crisp and clean pilsner can work well. It won’t overpower the cheese sauce and can provide a refreshing contrast.
Amber Ale – An amber ale with its balanced malt profile can be a versatile choice. It has enough malt sweetness to complement the cheese sauce without overpowering the dish.
Brown Ale – A brown ale, with its nutty and malty characteristics, can work well in beer and cheese sauce. It adds a layer of complexity without being too heavy.
What to Serve with Beer Cheese Mac and Cheese
- Garlic Bread or Breadsticks – A side of garlic bread or breadsticks can be a delicious addition. The crispy exterior and soft interior of the bread can be perfect for soaking up any extra cheese sauce.
- Tossed Salad – A light, crisp salad can provide a refreshing contrast to the richness of the mac and cheese. Consider a simple green salad with a vinaigrette dressing or a coleslaw with a tangy flavor.
- Grilled Sausages or Bratwurst – The savory and slightly smoky flavors of grilled sausages can pair well with the cheesy goodness of the mac and cheese. Choose a sausage with flavors that complement the dish.
- Pulled Pork – A serving of tender pulled pork can be a substantial and flavorful addition. The combination of the savory pork with the cheesy pasta creates a satisfying meal.
- Oven Fried Chicken Legs – Try a delicious chicken leg recipe that will go great with your mac and cheese. Oven Fried Chicken Legs
