Baked Sloppy Joes with Bisquick Topping and Cheddar Cheese

Delicious Family Baked Sloppy Joes - Easy Dinner for a Weeknight Meal
- 1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion power
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 small green pepper, cleaned, deseeded and chopped small
- 1 small carrot, grated
- 1 (15 oz.) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 cups bisquick
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish with nonstick spray.
Using a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the green pepper and carrots. Lightly salt and pepper as it brown and sprinkle with garlic powder and onion powder.
Drain any grease.
Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar. Worcestershire and about 1/4 cup water to the skillet with the beef. Stir well to combine.
Cover and let simmer about 5 minutes. Uncover and let simmer for 2 additional minutes.
Pour the cooked meat mixture into the bottom of your casserole dish and spread out with spoon.
Layer the cheese on top of the meat mixture.
Mix together the topping ingredients and pour over top of the cheese.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
