No Bacon Carbonara
Have you ever wanted a warm bowl of pasta carbonara with that creamy sauce but didn’t have time to fry up the bacon that is needed? Well this “No Bacon” Carbonara is delicious and quick and doesn’t really miss the bacon.
How to Quickly Make No Bacon Carbonara –
Cook 12 oz. pasta according to package directions but using less water than called for. Add 1 teaspoon soup base and salt to the cooking water.
In a small bowl, mix together –
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
- Freshly ground black pepper
Drain the pasta and reserve about 1/4 cup of that delicious cooking liquid –
Quickly add hot pasta right back to the pan and put on a warm burner.
Stir the egg, cream and cheese mixture into the hot pasta. Sprinkle with black pepper.
Serve with extra Parmesan Cheese!
