This HEALTHY CHILI RECIPE IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST RECIPE.  If you are looking for ways to add more nutritious yet tasty meals to your family dinner table... then learn how to make your favorite dishes even healthier!  This Chili tastes like your "good old favorite" Chili... yet much, much healthier.

  


HEALTHY CHILI


INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 pounds lean ground meat
1 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion - chopped
4-5 cloves of garlic - chopped
1 medium/large green pepper - chopped
2 (15.5 oz.) cans dark red kidney beans
1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/2 of a (15 oz. can pumpkin)
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon brown sugar


DIRECTIONS:

Sauté onions and green peppers in olive oil until tender.  Add garlic and sauté for about 1 additional minute.  

Add ground meat and brown chopping with a spatula as you go in order to make the ground meat fine.

When the ground meat is browned, add the tomato paste, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of chili powder to meat.   Stir until well blended through the ground meat. 

Add the rest of the ingredients and 1 (15 oz.) can of water, stir and simmer for about 20  minutes.
