More than 50 percent of Americans drink coffee every day — three to four cups each; more than 330 million cups a day and counting, according to a CBS report. Why? We love our coffee!
CAFE MOCHA (make with an Espresso/Cappuccino coffee pot)
1 cup of Espresso (2-3 oz.)
1 oz. chocolate syrup
whole milk for foaming
whipped cream
Make Espresso according to manufacturer’s directions. Preheat ½ cup of milk in the microwave to take the chill off. Put the chocolate syrup into the coffee cup. When coffee is done, pour into coffee cup, stir, and microwave for 45 seconds to make good and hot. In the meantime, foam the milk according to directions with the coffeemaker. Pour foamed milk on top of coffee, and top with whipped cream.
IRISH COFFEE
1 cup of hot coffee
1 ½ oz. Irish whiskey
1 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed (more or less to taste)
whipped cream
Add the brown sugar to the coffee, and stir to dissolve. Place in the microwave and heat for 45 seconds. Stir in the Irish whiskey, and top with whipped cream. Be quick with the whipped cream so the whiskey doesn’t have a chance to evaporate!
